Let the court name select the record service

Kittitas County’s Superior Court Clerk lists criminal felony cases among its filings. Upper Kittitas District Court handles misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors. Identify the court on the citation or case paperwork before choosing a portal; the county name alone does not identify the office that holds the file.

Upper District has a date-specific online route

Upper District’s records page says cases filed after May 4, 2026 are available in its new online portal. Its instructions require an account and the case number. The same page links a Court Records Request Form.

• For an Upper District case after that date, obtain the case number before opening the portal account.
• For an earlier filing, or a file the portal does not resolve, use the court-record request route to ask about availability.
• If the paperwork says Lower District or another court, obtain that court’s instructions; the Upper District announcement does not define another court’s coverage.

Choose the Court Records Request Form for a case file. The page also has administrative-record materials and an administrative fee schedule; those are not a basis for calculating the charge for your criminal case copies.

Superior Court files also have an archive collection

The Washington State Archives Kittitas Superior Court collection covers case files from 2015–2026 and includes criminal cases. It is a Superior Court collection, not the Upper District portal whose separate local rule applies to cases filed after May 4, 2026.

A practical purchase limitation matters here: the archive says case documents are not previewable. If you are unsure what a listed file contains, contact the Kittitas County Clerk about the contents before ordering rather than paying solely from an index title. The archive also states that sealed or confidential documents are not displayed and cannot be purchased online.

If the needed record is unavailable or not orderable through the archive, the collection directs requests to the Kittitas County Clerk. Preserve the case number and identify the specific judgment, sentence, order, dismissal, or other filing you need.

Specify the missing item

A useful inquiry names the court, case number, party and filing period, then asks for the particular judgment or other document. Explain whether you found an index entry without the file or could not identify the case at all. Ask about the copy format, certification and charge for that item before ordering.

Keep a misdemeanor result and a felony result tied to their respective courts. If the records appear related, confirm the relationship before treating them as duplicate convictions or as proof of the same outcome.
